I’ve been following these guys since they were labeled in some Spin Magazine list about 10 people to watch or something. Last year they got signed to Star Trak – a label run by Pharrell. They are currently on tour with Common and N*E*R*D.

DJ AM & Travis Barker Survive Deadly Plane Crash
Former Blink 182 Drummer Travis Barker, and DJ AM were were abroad a Learjet when it crashed while departing the runway in Columbia, S.C.
Travis Barker, a former Drummer for Blink 182, and DJ AM are in critical condition after the plane they were flying on went off the runway and crashed. Four other people aboard the plane were killed.
According to local news reports, Barker and DJ AM, whose real name Adam Michael Goldstein, were transported to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia where they are listed in critical condition.
Damn, hope these dudes are alright – story sounds unbelievable. Apparently these two jumped out a door almost immediately after inmpact. Travis is burned from the waste down and AM has some facial burns. I’m sure more developsment will be released.

Brother Ali and Jake-One talk new album + Minneapolis
So if its not carved in your brain yet – you need to get this album when it comes out. Well I’m pretty excited. It looks like Brother Ali’s track on the album called “The Fruth” (also features Rocafella artist Freeway) will be shot around Minneapolis and Ali says it will show how beautiful Minneapolis is, well for during his verse at least. Ok I need this video now and this album. White Van Music drops October 7th.

I mean at least he listened to the fans – overall consensus it seemed like no one liked it at all. Something just wasn’t right about it. I hope the revamped version sounds good – I got faith in Yeezy.

This dude is seriously the rock star of hip hop. “Lollipop” the first song we all heard off The Carter III is still getting performed half a year later. The more I hear this song the more I love it. Weezy belts his sweet track with an excellent live band with a “nice” Wayne guitar solo. I don’t know about this guy, but he is seriously one of the more interesting people to be in the music industry in my life time. RIP Static Major.
Weezy does his thing on SNL, performing “Got Money” with auto-tune effect and all, I have never really heard the auto-tune voice sound very good live but Wayne pulled it off. Anyway, nice live band performance, but who the fuck is Mack Maine…..

Girl Talk is going on tour this fall…huge tour lots of dates so check your town (Chicago and Minneapolis included.) So, as a preview for the tour I’m gonna post this video of Girl Talk at the 2008 Roskilde Festival in Denmark which was back in July. This is a bit different than how he normally performs because its a huge festival of 100,000 people, but its a nice example of how is shows are and how they are done. Get tickets now.
