RZA + The Game
The brain of Wu-Tang RZA just dropped the video for the track “Drama” (under the alias Bobby Digital) off his album Digi Snacks. Real dope video – I never really checked out the album so I’m gonna go back and see whats up. So should you. Wu.

Also check out this video of The Game just chillin for a day at his house in LA. He says some pretty interesting things. Truly another side of The Game.

All In One.

I guess it was good it was such a slow day in the hip hop world because I would not of been able to post much. I’ll just compile everything into one. Hopefully I’ll be back on my grind tomorrow.
DJ Babu – The Unexpected f. MF DOOM & Sean Price
Evidence – For Whom the Bell Tolls f. Phonte, Blu & will.i.am (prod. Khrysis
Both dope tracks, rare Doom sighting. Plust he Evidence track is stacked.
Behind the scenes at the video shoot for Ludacris’s “One More Drink” ft T-Pain.
Exile – In Love
Exile is putting out an album with an interesting idea:
A sampling experiment gone right, Radio quickly turned into a passion project for Exile – one that has already taken years in the making. Rarely one to take the expected path, Ex decided to flip the script a bit and instead of doing the typical instrumental album, challenged himself to only sampling sounds taken from his local L.A. radio waves to make his beats & statements with. The result is a sonic collage of crisp drums, static feedback, talking samples, and sounds from a wide array of genres – all filtered through Exile’s signature seamlessly chopped-up, tempo-switching style, and composed to convey succint life messages to the audience.
Exile is the second half of the high acclaimed Below The Heavens (with MC Blu) album last year. He is putting out a solo album of instrumentals fittingly called Radio and it drops Jan. 20th.
DJ Dusk’s Root Down Soundclash
Early in 2001 the Los Angeles club Root Down put on their first of a three part series called “Sound Clash,” organized & hosted by DJ Dusk. Based on the reggae sound system competitions, this was a hip-hop event – in this case featuring Madlib and Cut Chemist – going head to head, beat for beat for respect in front of a packed club.
Madlib was then unknown to many in the crowd, and Cut Chemist was at the height of his success with Jurassic 5. Each of the tracks had never been released. Each of the three rounds saw the excitement rise. The last round unleashed a partisan celebration from the captivated crowd.
Approximately a year later, the Root Down organized the round two, featuring Will.I.Am and Thes One. The drama and controversy of Round Two arose from the huge aesthetic differences on display between the “combatants.” The theatrics of the evening – clothes being taken off, ludicrous names and costumes – made the night a talking point in Los Angeles to this day. And Will.I.Am wasn’t a multi-platinum artist yet!
The last battle featured Oh No and Exile in 2003. With a relatively dignified display by the youngest pairing of the three, they closed the series with good music and much respect.
Mochilla’s Eric Coleman and B+ filmed all three events, but never had plans to release this as a DVD. However, since the tragic passing of DJ Dusk in 2006 they felt it was important to honor his legacy and share his gifts. This is for him, no edits, no overdubs, no interruptions… just raw hip-hop at its most exciting: vital and real.
In the store:
DJ Dusk’s Rootdown Soundclash DVD
Damn, I would love to go to one of these. Such a sick concept – battle another DJ and see who can create the best beats live and winner is chosen by crowd reaction. Sounds like such a good time. Will.I.Am’s beat kills it by the way.
I still can’t believe I haven’t really heard of this, but Wikipedia had some answers about the ideas history. Wiki definition of Sound Clash.
I do remember watching this video of two dudes sound clashing. It would be sick to get people to battle by just picking songs and seeing who gets a better crowd reaction. I think I’m gonna start an underground Sound Clash scene.

XXL Magazine + Kanye’s Heartless (Mastered)

Wale, B.O.B., Charles Hamilton, Asher Roth, Ace Hood, Curren$y, Cory Gunz, Blue and Mickey Factz are all featured on XXL’s “The 10 Freshmen.” Essetially it a list of 10 up and coming MCs you should keep your eye out for.

Kanye West – Heartless (Mastered) (CD Quality)
Self-explanatory.
Kanye does rare radio interview, talks new album.
What I see in life now is you can’t control everything, and God makes certain things happen for a reason, the way things line up, the synergy. The idea of 808’s and Heartbreak, and I didn’t even realize I was recording in Hawaii and I had to call up the hotel and the area code was… 808.
- Kanye West
Kanye does a rare intreview over on Big Boy’s radio show out in LA (you may recognize him from Entrouage.) Kanye talks about his new album 808 & Heartbreak, claiming he is gonna make albums until he makes the next Thriller. Can’t complain about that, as long as Kanye is in the studio, I’m cool with anything he releases.
At the end he talks about his new song “Coldest Winter” and plays it for the first time. The song is said to be about his mothers death.
A rumored tracklist has also dropped. 808 & Heartbreak drops November 25th.
- “Welcome to Heartbreak”
- “Heartless”
- “Love Lockdown”
- “Robocop”
- “Anyway”
- “Streetlights
- “Say You Will”
- “Real Bad News”
- “Amazing” (featuring Young Jeezy)
- “Tell Everybody That You Know” (featuring Lil Wayne)
- “Coldest Winter”
The Gigantics + Young Life ft. Lil Wanye, Paul Wall

- The Gigantics – Shut Up f. Murs, Vitamin D & Mr. Lif
- The Gigantics – The Explanation f. Aesop Rock, Onry Ozzborn & Eligh
Onry Ozzborn of Rhymesayer’s Grayskul is putting out an album featuring over 50 MCs on the scene. Onry’s is releasing this album under the alias The Gigantics and it consists of Onry makin some nasty beats with like I said over 50 MCs dropping verses. Expect more to come from this project!

Young Life – I’m a Boss f. Lil Wayne & Paul Wall
Crazy beat with some nices verses from Weezy and Paul Wall. Young Life is an up and coming MC from Compton, California.

Saigon ft. Lil Fame – WW4 (Prod. by Oddisee)
A week from tomorrow, I am dropping “A Rosenberg Oddisee”, a six song EP recorded in one day and produced entirely by my man Oddisee. This is the first record I wanted people to hear. Saigon absolutely murders this track and Lil Fame showing up was completely random. It was truly hip hop magic and don’t you worry–it was all captured on video (more on that later). The EP features tracks from Buckshot, Skyzoo, Nikki Jean, and more. It is honestly one of the best hip hop EPs I’ve ever heard. I know I’m talking mad sh*t, but I absolutely LOVE this record. And those of you unfamiliar with Oddisee–GET FAMILIAR! – Peter Rosenberg
Peter Rosenberg is a DJ on New York’s hip hop station Hot 97.
Bad Service w/ DJ PWELBS 10-19-08

props to Da Fras of La-Fa-Sah for the album art
Very good show tonight – went very smooth and I got in over 30 songs into the show. Thanks to those who hit me up on AIM during the show! Also another thanks to those who have been checking out the show on a weekly basis and downloading the mp3!
Click to listen right now:
For those who are interested you can download the mp3 or full zip file below.
Lil Wanye Re-Releasing Carter III + All New Songs

Lil Wayne Re-Releasing Carter III
Next on his plate is the release of a new album, Tha Carter III. Think it’s already out? You’re correct. However, the tireless New Orleans mic fiend says he’s dropping a new version of the album with all brand-new songs: He said clearly that the record is not — repeat not — Tha Carter IV. - MTV
I don’t even know what to say. Pretty unique idea to re-release an album with all new songs. So that means in the next 6 months Weezy is releasing The Carter IV, Dedcation 3, an album with T-Pain and The Carter III….again.
DJ Earworm – Love Lockdown vs. Reckoner

DJ Earworm – Love Lockdown vs. Reckoner (Right Click + Save as MP3) Click to hear.
DJ Earworm puts a mix together of Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” and Radiohead’s “Reckoner.” A pretty cool mix – head over to DJ Earworms website for a bunch of more remixes from this dude. A highlight includes his United States of Pop mix he did last year. Click the here to download the file.

Slug – You Be The Difference Video
I was at the event featured in this video – sooo sick, just look how many people are there. It was crazy and Atmosphere put on a pretty damn good show. Mos Def, Tom Morello and hip hop group The Pharycde also performed solid sets. It was called Take Back Labor Day Festival and it was over on Harriet Island in St. Paul, during the Republican National Convention Pretty cool video – election day is just 18 days away.
..and I’m laughing how cleaned up Slug-o got for that interview.

Jake-One – Smoking Section Interview
Check out this interview with Jake-One over at the Smoking Section. Very cool interview. Jake-One’s White Van Music dropped on Tuesday.
Kanye West – Coldest Winter

Kanye West – Coldest Winter (Radio Rip)
Sound quality is awful – but its a radio rip what do you expect. This song is about the death of his mother last year. I think the instrumetnals and vocals sounds alright – but the lyrics are kinda sappy. Expect a CD quality soon.
M.I.A. Interview Part 2 + Murs + DJ AM BACK!
It looks like some footage has surfaced of DJ AMs return to the tables as he DJed for Jay-Z in Hollywood last night. Good to see him back and spinning!
+++

Also check out this pretty dope interview with Murs that Pitchfork put up where they ask him such questions as his favorite band, food and what weird stuff he sees on tour. Not to mention that his favorite place to tour is Minneapolis, plus a Pizza Luce shout out. Gotta love Murs.
Minneapolis is great, because there’s Pizza Lucé, but you can’t really get a lot of girls there because someone in the Rhymesayers family has already messed with every girl in the city. – Murs
Atmosphere + Jay-Z, Coldplay Remix + OBAMA

Atmosphere has been chosen to be MTVu’s House Band of the Week. It essentially means that they play all the Atmosphere videos and interviews that have on record and play them all week over on MTVu. Well any way most of the interviews are old – but still pretty interesting so go check them out.
+++

Coldplay – Lost (rmx) f. Jay-Z
Also Jay-Z hopped on a remix of Coldplay’s “Lost” and it sounds pretty good. Unfortunatley there is only a radio rip and Zshare seems to be down. I’ll post a CD quality as soon as it surfaces.
+++
….and if you haven’t read or heard about Joe The Plumber -nows your chance.
Kanye West – Heartless (Full)

Kanye posted up a full version of his next single “Heartless.” It’s unmastered but I’m assuming it won’t be much different than the actual album version, other than perhaps some drums etc…
I like this better than Love Lockdown, cause he actually spits.
Also check out some photos from his album listening party. Not safe for work! Looks like quite the event!
Update, check out all these articles.
M.I.A. Pitchfork Interview + Moby Video + Radiohead
Official music video for “Ooh Yeah” from Moby’s new album Last Night.
+++

Information regarding Radiohead’s famed FREE album stunt has finally been revealed.
The writeup suggests that there have been three million purchases of In Rainbows thus far, from digital sales through the band’s webstore in the run up to the album’s release, the discboxes, the eventual physical release of the album on CD, and through other digital outlets. More specifically, the band moved around 100,000 of those (very nice!) discboxes, and the physical CD has sold 1.75 million units to date worldwide. Not bad for a thing you could get for free.

Extra Bonus stuff:
New EM? + Busta + Jazzanova

Eminem, “I’m Having A Relapse” (Right Click + Save As)
Em finally drops some verses after his long hibernation. He sounds like he might be back on track. New album in ‘09. UPDATED WITH CDQ MP3
+++

Jazzanova – Look What You’re Doin’ To Me f. Phonte
Jazzanova is a hip hop collective of DJs and producers from Germany, whose album drops October 21st, entitled Off All Things. They usually mix Jazz, Funk, Brazilian and hip hop. I have heard good things about these guys – looks like they are putting out an album with a bunch of dope beats they put together with good MCs dropping some verses. The link above features Phonte of Little Brother. Expect more!
+++

A lot of Busta’s new album has leaked already – probably my last Busta post as the album drops soon.
Busta Rhymes – World Go Round (Clean)
Some new Busta, clean, but still solid. BUUUSTA.
Mistah FAB on Karmaloop TV
Mistah Fab talks his new album and how he is still holding it down for Oakland. His new album The Bus Ride drops in Feb with appearances by T-Pain, Murs, Talib Kweli & Rick Ross. THIZZZZZ.
And it looks like DJ Am is back at the tables, he is DJing for Jay-Z tonight in Hollywood. Glad he is back!
LOVE LOCKDOWN + Jimmey Kimmel
Kanye perfroms “Love Lockdown” on Jimmy Kimmel last night. Just my thoughts, but look how excited the crowd was for this performance compared to last time Kanye was on Jimmy Kimmel. Kanye performed Stronger over a year ago, I remember I watched it 50 times because I thought it was such a good performance for TV. Love Lockdown just doesnt give me the same excitement that Stronger and The Goodlife did. Lets go Ye, 808 & Heartbreak better be amazing.
Kanye had a listening party in LA last night to play his new album for a bunch of writers, bloggers, music people etc. Well here is one review, you be the judge.

Dialated Peoples + Papoose

Dilated Peoples – The Last Is First (Prod. by Alchemist)
I posted a track from Evidence of Dialted Peoples late last week. Well he rejoins his west coast crew on this Alchemist produced track. I saw these dudes at Fifth Element (with Little Brother) back in ‘06 and I have loved them ever since….Not the best track but the rhmyes are pretty good.
+++

DJ Kay Slay ft. Papoose, Bun B & Chamillionaire – 6 Million Ways to Die
Props to Splash.
A bunch of Papoose tracks have surfaced this weak. Papoose was one of the most talked about up and coming MCs of 2007 – almost a year later and still nothing but random tracks. But they are always pretty good so check out this bundle of tracks.
The Knux + Luda + Trae

A new track from Cali dudes The Knux – song is called Fire, which is very fitting cause this funky hipster beat kills. The Knux had a song featured in the movie Pineapple Express and their new album Remind Me In 3 Days drops in exactly 2 weeks.
+++
A nice Ludacris interview in which he talks about his new album Theater of Mind. Enjoy and also enjoy this leaked track below
Ludacris – Call Up the Homies f. The Game & Willy Northpole

Trae f. Bun B + Lil Keke, “Grey Cassette”
A new track from one of my favroite southern MCs Trae – featuring Bun B and Lil Keke, off Trae’s upcoming mixtape.
