Slim Thug – Please Don’t Do That (feat. Akon) + Jay Electronica – Hagler (rmx) f. Che Grand (prod. Denaun Porter)

Slim Thug – Please Don’t Do That (feat. Akon)
I’m not sure what I think about this track but I gotta support Slim – this song sounds like it could of come out 5 years ago. I’m just not a huge fan of Akon tracks.
+++

Jay Electronica – Hagler (rmx) f. Che Grand (prod. Denaun Porter)
Jay Electronica gets a remix from Che Grand – this beat is ridiculous.
N*E*R*D Inteview + Stussy Event DC
A pretty dope little conversation with the members of N*E*R*D.
+++
Bun B, Wale and 9thWonder at the Stussy MLK T-shirt DC launch event. Nice little interviews with each them.
Casual – Put It In The Air (Video)
Damm this beat sure makes me smile – it’s literally so…casual. Casual – who is an MC in the group Hieroglyphics quickly drops this nice little track with a nice little homemade video too. No word on if this is for a project – but I think it’s just for fun. Dude is a pretty good MC – I wouldn’t mind some solo material more often.
Now I gotta find an mp3 for this….
Coldplay – Life In Technicolor II + Animal Collective – My Girls (Videos)
Ok…now that was the definition of brilliant. Such a clever little music video and damn do I love it. I loved the song even more when it dropped as the opening track on Coldplay’s latest album Viva La Vida – the group recentley made a part 2 to the track by adding some vocals and it turned out pretty well.
The music video is making a serious comeback people – MTV and all that shit is dead and it’s moved to the internet where people are watching dozens of videos on YouTube daily – I’m telling you everyone in the industry needs to put this much time and effort into music videos as they can. People aren’t buying shit anymore you gotta get your name out there as much as possible and that includes making dope music videos. I seriously thought the music video was going to die because they don’t ever play them on TV anymore but now I get a handful of fresh videos daily on the internet.
Also check out the video below for the track “My Girls” off Animal Collective’s latest album Merriweather Post Pavilion, which I love by the way. If you like this video – check out Animal Collective right now – GOOGLE IT.
Damn sorry for that rant.
Slim Thug Video Blog + Jadakiss

Sickest crewneck ever. I guess Jadakiss is gonna be rockin this in his new music video for the track “Letter to B.I.G. Old school Biggie shit right there – Coogi.

+++
Slim Thug just dropped the first video of his video blog – damn that dude is way to hood to be doing video blogs. He is awkward as hell hahaa….Watch out for his new album Boss of all Bosses dropping March 24th and his new single “I Run.
Soulja Boy – Pow Freestyle + Jake-One Interview
Vimby.com catches up with producer Jake-One a couple months after his album White Van Music dropped to critical acclaim and got in a lot of peoples Top 10 of ‘08.
+++
I can’t really believe I’m posting this cause its Soulja Boy – but the dude makes catchy shit and I respect him for making all that cash making beats in his room and putting them on Myspace. Well I don’t really know why I like this but over at CB pointed out the complexity of this drum beat is incredible. According to a bunch of producers the complexity behind creating this beat is ridiculous. Soulja boy also talks about how recently got robbed at his house.
Minnesota Hip Hop: Franz Diego – The FranzDiego.COm EP

Yo – well you know I’m gonna be posting anything thats making noise in Minneapolis. Franz Diego just dropped a new EP – he is also a member of the hip hop group Illuminous 3 who are based in the Twin Cities. The group just dropped an album called Room. U-N-I Tracks + Gorilla Zoe – Lost (rmx) f. Jim Jones & Lil Wayne

U-N-I – Castle Vee Re-Up (feat. Black Milk) (Produced by DiBia$e)
U-N-I- Run feat. El Prez Three 1 Zero C-San and Casey Veggies
I wasn’t a huge fan of these guys at first but now they are growing on me. Both these tracks are pretty sick along with most their material. These guys are out of Inglewood, CA and have pretty much been featured in every hip hop magazine as unsighned hype.

Jay-Z – My President Is Black (DC Remix)

Jay-Z – My President Is Black (DC Remix) (CDQ)
I’m not even sure if this is the final version – it sounds a tad unfinnished towards the end but this is the first CD quality version of the track I have seen. Enjoy!
Alright UPDATED – this is now the official full length CD quality version of the track.
Toki Wright – State of Emergency

Toki Wright – State of Emergency
Never before has this generation been at more of a critical point than now…the present day. War and Peace. Poverty and Gluttony. Enslavement and Freedom. Each measure of the spectrum entangled in the ultimate fight for power. Obtaining justice and equality are no easy tasks, our forefathers and mothers have proven this to be true. May this surge of energy be the catalyst for global understanding. In our struggle let us not forget the trials and tribulations of the great many who have walked along the hazardous path. Recognize history. Prepare yourself for the future. We are in a STATE OF EMERGENCY!
– Toki Wright
Another Minneapolis MC by the name of Toki Wright just dropped the dirty version of his track “State of Emergency.”
Check out his Myspace for more info.
I don’t know what it is but there has seriously been jack shit coming out in the last week. I’m almost getting bored….
Jay-Z – My President Is Black (Remix)
My President is black
My Maybach too
And I’ll be goddamned if my diamonds ain’t blue
My money’s dark green
And my Porsche is light grey
And I’m headed for DC, anybody feel me?My president is black – in fact he’s half white
So even in a racist mind, he’s half right
Even if you’ve got a racist mind, it’s all right
My President is black, but his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther could walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama could run
Barack Obama ran so all our children could fly
So I’m a spread my wings, you could meet me in the sky
Already got my own clothes, already got my own shoes
I was hot before Barack, imagine what I’m gonna do
Hello miss America, hey pretty lady
Red white and blue flag, wave for me baby
Never thought id say this shit, baby I’m good
You can keep your puss, I don’t want no more bush
No more war, no more Iraq
No more white lies – My President is black
Skip to 2:20
I can assure you the mp3 of this track will probably drop tomorrow.
Some brand new Weezy

All of these are tagged up but its some new Wayne off The Empire’s new mixtape Southern Slang 11: Uncontested which I’m gonna post as soon as it drops.
I can’t believe my Cavs are getting destroyed by the Lakers right now…
P.O.S.- Drumroll

Minnesota MC P.O.S. drops another track off his upcoming album Never Better – the album drops February 3rd. Keep an eye out. Rhymesayers son. I think this may even have dropped yesterday – not sure how it slipped past my radar.
Also don’t forget P.O.S. is gonna be on tour check out the tour dates. Especially you Minneapolis and Chicago homies.
Birdman – Always Strapped f. Lil Wayne + UGK – Da Game Been Good To Me

Birdman – Always Strapped f. Lil Wayne
Father and son hook up for a (semi) new track as Waynes verse was used on a mixtape track with Juelz but its whatever – also some verses from Birdman. I guess this is probably one of the better songs I’ve heard from these two as a combo since Like Father, Like Son.
+++

Nothing like some fresh UGK – this track is some classic silky smooth Underground Kingz.
RIMP PIMP C

Bangladesh – Passport Music Mixtape (Hosted By Don Cannon)
I think I posted a track from this a few weeks back but now here it is the mixtape from up and coming produced Bangladesh. If the name sounds familiar this is the guy that produced one of the biggest tracks last year – Lil Wayne’s “A Milli.”

Jim Jones – Blow The Bank ft. Oshy Star + Obie Trice Tracks

Jim Jones – Blow The Bank ft. Oshy Star
Probably the best track I’ve heard so far from Jim’s new album Pray IV Reign. Check out the album art above – it’s kinda sick. Who the hell is Oshy Star?
+++

Obie Trice – Bunch of Blessings
Former member of Eminem’s Shady Records – Obie releases some tracks from his upcoming album Bottoms Up. “You Burn” with a nice Led Zepplin sample – that had to be expensive. I forgot how much I liked Obie Trice.
P.O.S. Album Art Video + Slim Thug "I Run" Video
I posted the album art just the other day and now the video drops from Slim Thug’s new single “I Run” – pretty dope video. I’m not totally onboard this track yet – but it’s growing on me. I just think this is trying way to hard to be a big single, but I still have very high hopes for the rest of the album.
Jay-Z – Pass The Roc (Demo) + Jamie Foxx – Blame It (rmx) f. T-Pain, Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne

A little Jay-Z demo to start off my day – I’m just killin time in between classes. But this is pretty sick right here – some old school Hov. He sounds like such a youngin. This is off DJ Mike Nice Brooklyn Bullshit mixtape that drops tomorrow. I’ll probably post it up – as it’s supposed to featuere a bunch of demos from Jay, Biggie and Big Daddy Kane.
+++

Jamie Foxx – Blame It (rmx) f. T-Pain, Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne
This track was already hot but Busta and Lil Wayne jump on it to freshen it up even more. Wouldn’t be surprised if this shit got some radio play. Wayne verse is legit.
Blame it on the a-a-al-al-al-alchohol
Lil Wayne – Louisanimal ft. Lil Boosie (50 Cent Diss) + RZA – Whar f. Kool G Rap, Ghostface Killah & Tash Mahogan

Lil Wayne – Louisanimal ft. Lil Boosie (50 Cent Diss)
All about a dollar, fuck 2 quarters
Bitch I’ll pour syrup in that vitamin water
Wow…50 take a seat. Wayne hooks up with Boosie for a diss track to 50 cent – I’m sorta lost on why they are beefing, but it’s not like I care.
I know this has been out a month or two (its on The Drought is Over: 6) but this is the first no DJ tags and CD quality version I’ve seen.

Drake – She Just Wanna Dance ft. Trey Songz + Slim Thug Album Cover

Drake – She Just Wanna Dance ft. Trey Songz
Canadian MC Drake, who was once a cast member of that TV show Degrassi, drops a pretty catchy track off his upcoming mixtape So Far Gone. If you haven’t checked Drake out yet you should Google that shit – he has quite the following for never having released an album. He has a couple mixtapes, tons of singles out on the internet and has praises from Lil Wayne. Can’t beat that.

I’ve marveled at this picture for a year or two now – I guess someone else was too as it’s the cover to Slim’s new album Boss of All Bosses which drops March 9th. You can hear his first single “Run” on his Myspace.
