A Michael Jackson Tribute: Mixted by Jimmy 2 Times

A Michael Jackson Tribute: Mixted by Jimmy 2 Times
Get Cryphy and Rhymesayers Radio homie DJ Jimmy 2 Times just put together a pretty dope mix of MJ songs in honor of his passing. To be honest I’ve been trying to hold off on all the MJ tributes because it’s pretty much an overdose everywhere else. But Jimmy 2 Times is a dope DJ who reps the Twin Cities and this is a nice highy quality mix worth jamming. Jimmy 2 Times who City Pages named Best Club DJ spun these tracks just this last Saturday on Rhymesayers Radio.

Consequence – Whatever You Want ft. Kanye West & John Legend

- Consequence – Whatever You Want f. Kanye West & John Legend (prod. Kanye West) (Explicit)
- Consequence – Whatever You Want ft. Kanye West & John Legend (Clean)
The a flyer for this track came out a couple weeks back and there has been much anticipation for it finally getting released. This is the first single of Consequence’s upcoming album ConsTV which is set to drop in October. I’m sure the dirty version will soon follow.
All hail NahRight.
Naledge – Focus (Video) + Mr. Hudson – Supernova ft. Kanye West (Video)
The video was directed by Noah Banks over the course of two weeks and was made from 3,000 still images and zero video footage. Watch Naledge get his stop-motion on while making his way through the streets of the Chi.
Now this is a dope video concept! Brand new video from Chicago’s Naledge who as of today just released his solo effort (he is 1/2 of Kidz In The Hall) titled Chicago Picasso. It’s a mixtape of sorts but it is all album quality material with guest verses from the likes of Rhymefest, Bun B, Mickey Factz, Jay Electronica and Curren$y. Chicago Picasso is available via iTunes.
Spotted at OKPlayer.

Video for “Supernova” from Kanye West homie from across the pond, Mr. Hudson. His album “Straight No Chaser” drops July 20th. If this is up your alley you can download an album sampler right here.

Royce Da 5′9″ – Gun Harmonizing (prod. Emile) + The Freshmen – Hello There ft. Nio Tha Gift

Royce Da 5′9″ – Gun Harmonizing (prod. Emile)
The first track off Royce Da 5’ 9” upcoming The Revival EP. This is the first of the 4 tracks on the EP. This track bangs – Royce continues to be my favorite MC in the Slaughterhouse crew as he takes the title “Gun Harmonizing” to heart as he spits some verses and dope chorus.
Look for the Slaughterhouse LP dropping August 11th and The Revival EP from Royce dropping July 7th.
2dopeboyz with the world premiere.

The Freshmen – Hello There ft. Nio Tha Gift
Put the Gorillaz, Outkast and the Beastie Boys together in a cheap motel room with a microphone and you may come close to the sound of The Freshmen. The group consists of three members; Kristo (mc), A. Wolf (mc) and THX (producer) hailing from the Bay Area and Los Angeles, California.
As soon as I read this description I figured I had to check The Freshmen out. These freshmen deliver with their new single “Hello There” which certainly caught my attention. Pretty refreshing sound but I don’t wanna over hype it.
Jay-Z – D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune) (Video) + Kanye West – Street Lights (Video)
Jay-Z – D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)
I pretty much expected this video to be dope….and it is. The video for Jay-Z’s “D.O.A” which is from what I undertand the street single from his upcoming album Blueprint 3. Production from No I.D. – still loving this beat. Anyone catch the live performance on BET Awards? If not you can watch it here.
LeBron what up?

A video for the track “Street Lights” off Kanye’s release 808s & Heartbreak. Nothing to exciting I guess – but visually appealing.
Super Mash Brothers – All About The Scrilions (Free Album)

Super Mash Brothers – All About The Scrilions (Free Album)
The second album from Los Angeles mash up duo the Super Mash Brothers. Their new album is titled All About The Scrilions and it’s all about getting your party on. Labeling themselves as “Girl Talk’s hot cousin” – you will surely enjoy this one as once again all your favorite pop tracks are mixed up into one giant party. I must say The Ying Yang Twins over Third Eye Blind had me fist pumping in my whip all weekend. Another great mash up album for all you mash up folks.
You can pick up their old album below.

The Minnesota Boyz – Run Minnesota (Video)
The Minnesota Boyz – Run Minnesota
I wish I knew more about these cats but other than the homie St. Paul Slim I don’t know much. A posse cut of sorts and it certainley bangs….reppping Minnesota right here. I like the flow of some of these others MCs. I’m gonna do some research. I like this because it shows another side to the Minnesota hip-hop scene that not many people see.
Produced and Directed by C.T.G. of The Minnesota Boyz – Tha Connect Management.
P.O.S. performs "Graves" & "Savion Glover" Live In LA
P.O.S. performing ‘Graves’ and ‘Savion Glover’ at a pre-Warped Tour ‘09 warehouse party in LA.
This is some pretty dope high quality footage. The sound is good too. I might have to stop through Warped Tour this year just to see my man P.O.S. kill it. Plain Ole Bill killin it as always as well.
Wiz Khalifa Interview with Mr. Peter Parker
Mr Peter Parker interviews Wiz Khalifa. Wiz Khalifa and Mr. Peter Parker talk about new up and coming artist like drake, Asher roth, Kid Cudi, and Charles Hamilton. “Flying high live in the Twin Cities” the Mixtape coming soon.
Pretty dope interview. Look for the new Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y mixtape dropping real soon.

Nas & Damian Marley – Distant Relatives (Promo Video) + The Roots Premiere New Single on Jimmy Fallon (Video)
Some fastastic promotional footage of Nas and Damien Marley working on their new album as well as some interview. The collaboration album is set to drop this fall under the title Distant Relatives. I’m definitely looking forward to this album – I just wish I could catch them at Rock The Bells this summer. Great project, much anticipated – sounds dope so far.

The Roots premiered the title track off their new album on Jimmy Fallon last night. The album titled How I Got Over is set to drop October 20th. Word is the single is set to drop MP3 style next week!

Mike Posner & Big Sean – Smoke & Drive (Live Video) + Slaughterhouse – The One Behind The Scenes (Video)
It’s insane the underground following that Mike Posner is getting right now. This dude still needs more attention! But here is some footage of Posner and Big Sean performing the track “Smoke N Drive” off Posner’s A Matter of Time Mixtape. The crowd knows all the words…crazy stuff.
Mike Posner and The Brain Trust – A Matter of Time (Mixtape)

I’ve been meaning to post this footage for a couple days now. A behind the scene look at the video shoot for an upcoming Slaughterhouse video titled “The One.” The track already sounds like a MONSTER. Beat is really dope in my mind – production from DJ Khalil. Slaughterhouse LP drops in July. Anticpation growing more and more errrrday.

Pretty slow day – nothing dropped worth wetting your pants over but these some what grabbed my attention and they may grab yours. MMMM….leftovers?
Last of the Record Buyers presents: Content Under Pressure – Thursday, June 25th

Well it has been a slow rainy day here in Minnesota – so I’ll bring some sunshine to everyones day and inform you about a fantastic event going on tomorrow here in Minneapolis. This concept is crazy – the homie Kevin Beacham of Rhymesayers and Redefinition Radio over at 89.3 The Current does a better job at explaining the event than I ever will so I’ll leave it to him in the video below. But basically 7 great producers get paired with 7 great MCs. They get the day to perfect a song and will then perform it for everybody over at the Institute of Production and Recording. Ya Dig?
This event is FREE and all ages! I think I’m going to have to check this out.
THE MCS: Abstract Rude, M.anifest, St Paul Slim, Carnage, New MC, Sims, & Felipe Cuauhtli
THE PRODUCERS: Blueprint, Medium Zach, O-D, Katrah-Quey, Benzilla, X:144 & Big Cats!

Two tracks of Young Dro’s upcoming album P.O.L.O. (Players Only Live Once.) “You Nasty” is the second single but frankly Akon’s hook is complete garbage and ruins the song.
Clipse ft. Kanye West – Kinda Like A Big Deal (Video)
The first video and single with a guest feature from Kanye West off the Clipse’s new album Till The Casket Drops which literally drops in September. Looks a bit low quality..but whatev.

E-603 – Torn Up (Free Album)

Well it’s that time again. Time to get your mash-up on. You may recall that I posted E-603’s first album Something For Everyone back in the fall. Well it’s summer and E-603 has just released his second mash-up album for all of us to blast through our speakers for the rest of this hot, steamy summer. If you like Girl Talk or The Super Mash Brothers – this is truly for you. Imagine every pop, hip-hop and rock song you have ever loved blended it up into the ultimate mixed drink. Also you can tell this is fresh outta the fridge because a ear-full of songs are more recent releases.
With just under and hour of party time mashes this will surely keep your ears playing “name that tune” for the rest of the summer. Now slam some shots.
In case you missed E-603’s first album you can download it here.
Like Girl Talk – you can pay for the album if you choose to support. Click here.
3OH!3 – Don’t Trust Me (Benny Blanco RMX) ft. KiD CuDi + Jay-Z – D.O.A./99 Problems (Wallpaper Remix)

3OH!3 – Don’t Trust Me (Benny Blanco RMX) ft. KiD CuDi
Though I would never choose to listen to the original version of this track….Kid Cudi just made it the shit in my mind. This is pretty fresh as Cudi hops on the already popular track from the pop princesses of Boulder.

Jay-Z – D.O.A./99 Problems (Wallpaper Remix)
Remixing duo Wallpaper remix Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” and his recentley released “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” by of course auto-tuning the track. I can already see Wallpaper being one of the long standing names when it comes to the remix game. They murdered this one turning Jay-Z’s anti-party jam into one hell of a party.
The Cali/New York based duo have a handful of other kick-ass remixes you can jam over at their MySpace.com/Wallpaper.
Junkyard Empire – Rebellion Politik!

Junkyard Empire – Rebellion Politik!
Graham O’ Brien (also of Abzorbr and No Bird Sing) brings together another group of Twin Cities musicians to create Junkyard Empire. The group has a real nice jazzy-live band hip hop sound with some heavy political punchlines. The group who was just recentley signed to LA based label MediaRoots is releasing their first EP titled Rebellion Politik late this summer. As an introduction check out the title track from the EP featured above.
The gang has a handful of tracks over at their MySpace as well. So check it.
