Felt (Slug x Murs) -Protagonists

- Felt – Protagonists (Usershare)
Ah yes! The first leak from one of my most anticipated releases – Felt 3: A Tribute To….well they have released that information yet. But we do know who will be producing the new album. “And this time Ace Rock is the drummer” states Murs in this booming new track from the duo whose other half is Slug of Atmosphere. Producer Aesop Rock will take Ant’s place on the third installation of the Felt series. I was a bit iffy when I realized Ant wouldn’t be producing the album – but Aesop Rock is the man to fill in the position. This track is the perfect taste of what is to come.
Also Rhymesayers released a clue on the album title based off this picture. Thanks guys..HA!

No Bird Sing – Dead Leaves ft. Bo Ramsey

No Bird Sing – Dead Leaves ft. Bo Ramsey
The homie Graham of No Bird Sing (and Junkyard Empire) sent me this track a few days ago but I was slacking cause I was so busy. Thanks to Mike over at MWB for uploading the track. These St. Paul natives just finished up their full length self-titled debut album and just released this second single titled “Dead Leaves.” This track features booming guitar from Grammy Award winning guitarist Bo Ramsey – the rest of the album includes appearances from Eyedea and Kristoff Krane.
I’m not 100% sure on a release date – but they are having a release party on September 12th and the Triple Rock. Check out the flyer for the show here.
Add-2 – Superman (Promo Video) + Jay-Z – Run This Town (Video Trailer)

Thankfully I got some good stuff from the homie Add-2 as he drops this promo video for his upcoming track “Superman” which will be featured on his Tale of Two’s City 3: The Rise & Fall mixtape that drops August 28th. Video looks to be dope.

A.R.M. – I Shine ft. Supastition + Eyedea UGHH Interview Part 2

A.R.M. – I Shine ft. Supastition
Twin Cities rapper Manifest, KruKid and Seattle producer Budomake up the group A.R.M. I actually saw these fellas open up for K’Naan a few weeks back – pretty dope stuff. You can catch some video footage of the event here. Well this time they recruit Supastition, a dope MC from North Carolina. This track will not be on the duo’s upcoming album titled Uprising but it certainly a good glimpse of what is to come.
Next up – a video for “Heaven Only Knows” which features Brother Ali and will be on their upcoming album.
probs to MWB.

While we are in the Twin Cities – part 2 of Eyedea’s inteview with UGHH.
Eyedea discusses the identity crisis he faced touring the country with Atmosphere at age 17. Referred to by Slug as a child prodigy, he discusses the book he co-wrote with Abilities’ brother Derek before finishing high school: the main character having spawned his alias Oliver Heart. Heartbreak, addiction, death, regret and… dealing shrooms to his boss back when he worked as a medical records clerk form the underpinnings of a life Eyedea claims to be book worthy. Will there be an Eyedea autobiography in the near future? Check out the new album By The Throat at UndergroundHipHop.com.
Mr. Music – Take You To Another World (Club Mix) ft. LA
Mr. Music – Take You To Another World (Club Mix) ft. LA

Anyway – Mr. Music just relased a club mix of one of his singles which features his homie LA. I also posted up a video above the duo asking for you votes for a contest they are hopefully going to win. If they win they will be opening for Akon, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and Flo Rida at a show in Miami. Just watch the video above and they will explain the rest. Support these fellas!
Felt 3: A Tribute to ______?
Well this speaks for it self. More clues to come about the album title and which producer the duo will be working with. Felt 2 is easily one of my favorite hip-hop albums ever.
This is already my favorite album of 2009/10.

Two Mike Posner Interview + Eyedea – UGHH Interview Part 1 (Video)
Here are two informative interview with the homie Mike Posner. In the video above Mike talks about how he started making moves with his music and balancing his music career and attending college. New mixtape drops this fall and an album early next year.
Mike Posner stopped by the iHipHop offices to discuss his new deal with J Records, Why he doesn’t feel like he’s “made” it yet, and how pop music doesn’t have to be corny. Mike also identifies with the new multicultural genre by citing Outkast and Paul Simon as influences. He also stresses the importance of writing his own music to avoid the incestuous tendencies of pop music.

Jay-Z explains his new album cover. Reminds me of one of my favorite albums ever.
“These things are like the forgotten pieces in hip-hop,” Hov explained. “It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, making gimmicks — it’s still about making music. Those things are piled in the corner. These are the forgotten things about music. It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, it’s not about making gimmicks, it’s about music. The three stripes that everybody is asking about is made from the original [number] three. The first three they made on the wall was someone carving. If you look at [the number] 3, all they did was connect lines. The whole thing about this album, how I approached it, is that I wanted to make a new classic to start that all over again — to go back to making classic albums like the ones we grew up listening to.”

Nipsey Hussle – Bullets Ain’t Got No Names Vol. 3 + Rick Ross – Lay Back 2 ft. Robin Thicke

Rick Ross – Lay Back 2 ft. Robin Thicke
Even with the bizarre past of Rick Ross I still find Deeper Than Rap to be one of the better release of this year. “Lay Back” was already one of my favorite tracks with a guest feature from crooner Robin Thicke. Well it looks like they put together a part 2 which is equally is dope. This is the next single off Deeper Than Rap.
Eyedea & Abilities – Junk (Video) + F. Stokes – Jeremiah (Prod. Lazerbeak) (Video)

Kidz In The Hall – Flickin + Nero – Kinda Like A Big Deal (#77 DJBooth.net Freestyle Series)
![]()
Kidz in the Hall – Flickin’ (MP3)
Kidz In The Hall – Flickin (iTunes)
**Update** Other blogs have posted the mp3 so I will too!
Out of respect for Kidz In The Hall I’m going to just post up the stream for “Flickin’” which is the first single off their new album Land Of Make Believe which drops October 13th via Duck Down Records. Double-O with the fresh production – and one hell of a catchy hook. What is “flickin” you ask? The duo explains below:
“FLICKIN” is a prime example of dichotomy of imagination and reality. The title is a colloquial Chicago term. Naledge explains “Flickin’” is the idea that at any point in time something is photo-ready or picturesque. When I was younger it was used to describe a person’s car, shoes, haircut, or outfit. Any material possession with physical beauty.” “Confidence is key” Double-0 adds, “The song should make you feel good when you look in the mirror regardless of what you have on.”
-Kidz In Hall
I got a feeling I’m going to be bumping this all week.
