Ludacris – How Low (Video)
I’m a Luda fan for life. This is a jam and the beat knocks. But I fuckin despise the chipmunk voice in rap songs.
Battle of the Sexes drops in March.

Intuition – Buzzkill ft. Slug + Consequence feat. Asher Roth – Childish Games

Buzzkill ft. Slug (of Atmosphere) (prod. Equalibrum)
I don’t know that much about Intuition but he sounds pretty dope on this track. But we all know what this post is really for. Classic Slug over a friendly beat.

New mixtape from Consequence titled Cons TV Presents… Movies On Demand is set to drop in February. We haven’t heard from Asher in awhile.
P.O.S. – PinBoard Interview (Video)
P.O.S sat down for an exclusive interview with us while he was in London Town for a gig last year; We discussed the complexities of growing up in two very different towns with the black and white racial equilibrium, the difficulties of identifying himself with a particular sub-culture, how his album Never Better is, at its core, a Hip Hop album, his thoughts on why mainstream Black America hasn’t overwhelmingly embraced indie rap, and much more.
I’ve watched a quite a few P.O.S. interviews and interviewed him myself for that matter and every time I see him he always has something different and interesting to say. He says and raps what I think…but can’t put to words. If that makes sense? I’m forever impressed with this guys appreciation for his fans, his career, and his love of music. Definitely watch this one – it stands out from the rest.
Can ya guess what Atmosphere album P.O.S. picked as his favorite?

Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix FINAL Version)

- Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix FINAL Version) (USERSHARE)
- Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix FINAL Version) (Click to stream)
Hey yo Mike Posner fans. If you downloaded Mike’s mixtape One Foot Out The Door you maybe have heard the “Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix)” and you probably have it on repeat like I do. Well the Minneapolis-remixer-producer has since released a new mastered version of the track which is equally fresh. Apparently Gigamesh sent the older unfinished-unmastered version of the joint to Mike Posner as a taste of his remixing talent.
Either way a dope Minneapolis producer is getting some serious shine and it’s well deserved at that. Both the unfinnished and finished version of this are a serious problem.
…and for all those in Chicago – Mike will be performing at Enclave nightclub in downtown Chicago on Jan. 29th. Some clown who is charge of his tour decided to book a fairly prominent college based artist at a 21+ night club. Some one needs to be checked…just saying. Posner will also be doing an in-store meet and greet at Leaders that same day from 3:30-4:00.
In-Store meet and greet flyer can be viewed here.
Dan Black – Symphonies (REMIX) ft. KiD CuDi

Dan Black – Symphonies (REMIX) ft. KiD CuDi
That Kid CuDi drops some rhymes over a track from UK artist Dan Black. This track has THE same exact snares as Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” Not sure if that is intentional but whatever. CUDI!
Clispe – Freedom (Video) + Big Sean – Million Dollars (Video)
I know this is a popular track with most Clipse fans. Not my favorite off Til The Casket Drops but I can fuck with this video….and anything related to the Clipse for that matter. DOOOORMAN!
Prod. Sean C and LV.

Jay Electronica – Exhibit A (Music Video Trailer)

Jay Electronica – Exhibit C (Live Video)
Jay Electronica hops on stage and performs the “it” song of the moment “Exhibit C” at Mos Def’s concert in NY a night or two ago. Diddy up on stage doing the ad-libs is interesting to say the least. Dope to hear this live.
Photos from the night can be viewed here.
Chip Tha Ripper – Here I Am (prod. 6th Sense)

Chip Tha Ripper – Here I Am (prod. 6th Sense)
We haven’t heard from Chip since his mixtape dropped. Can’t complain about 6th Sense production either. Really dug 6th stuff on the Outasight mixtape too.
I guess this and many more unreleased tracks will be appearing on It’s A 6th Sense Mixtape Yo!! Volume 2 & 3.

Matt Boy White Spining Tonight on Radio DePaul

I took what I wrote over at FSD. TUNE IN!
Jugrnaut’s in-house DJ Matt Boy White will be spinning tonight on Radio DePaul’s Bad Service show hosted by myself – Pwelbs. I’ve been helping Andrew out behind the scenes over here at Fake Shore Drive. Born and raised in Minnesota, I now attend DePaul University and can safetly say I view Chicago as a second home. I host a hip-hop show Sunday night’s 6-9PM over at DePaul’s student run radio station Radio DePaul.
We love having the opportunity to profile and interview many of Chicago’s hip-hop artists for the largest student body in the Chicago area. If your interested in sending music, interview requests, promote on campus etc – please hit me up at pwelbs@gmail.com and/or my homie Quinn (who hosts an excellent show on Tuesday nights 7:30-10:00PM.)
Again, I invite you tune in tonight 6-9PM as Matt Boy White spins the best hip-hop to drop from Chicago in 2009. Should be a pretty nice recap from easily one of the most talented up and coming DJs in the city. Plan is we will be doing this once a month – so stay tuned for more info on how to be involved in the future. All brought to you by Fake Shore Drive, Jugrnaut and Radio DePaul.
Tune in at: http://radio.depaul.edu or iTunes Radio. Click here to tune in now!

Dessa – Dixon’s Girl (Video)
Some visuals for the lead single off Dessa’s new album A Badly Broken Code – which might I add sounds amazing. I listened through it quite a few times this week and have concluded she with out a doubt shits on every other female rapper in the game right now. Yup. Doomtree.
This isn’t the best track on the album but dope nevertheless. Video is slick – I recall Dessa nervously tweeting the day of the video shoot.
Snoop Dogg – I Wanna Rock (DJ Dead Eye Mix)f. Jay-Z, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Cassidy, Styles P, Lloyd Banks, Ras Kass, Bun B, Trife Diesel, Young Jeezy, Raekwon, Joell Ortiz & Crooked I

Ok. Well…something like this doesn’t drop everyday. I mean I love this beat – but 19 minutes…
Bun B – Adrenaline Rush X Don’t Say Shit

“And my Jordan game ugly, Elephant Man, I should hide myself”
The story goes (of course I’m summarizing)…
Earlier today I received a phone call from Bun that went something like this:
Bun: “I don’t want to insult your intelligence or anything, and I’m not sure if you noticed, but I’ve been dropping these freestyles over the past week for my upcoming project, No Mixtape”
Me: “Yeah man, of course. I’ve actually downloaded them all”
Bun: “Well, I’m about to kick this one off for FSD, but we’ve gotta make it Chicago for your site!”
Me: “I mean, Bun, I’d…”
Bun: “I need an old Twista or Crucial Conflict instrumental”And two hours later, here we go. He brings pain like 2 bad nurses on this one.
No Mixtape, Trill O.G. and The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones coming soon.
Only Andrew’s words over at Fake Shore Drive can sum this track up. Can you imagine getting a call from Bun B?
Extra: Bun B – Don’t Say Shit
Add-2 – I Came Up X Adult Swim (Get Out of the Pool)

To celebrate Add-2’s video “Luxury” (directed by Da Visionaryz) being cleared for airplay on MTV and their various networks here are two unreleased Add-2 songs. First “I Came Up” using a familiar sample most may remember from the late great Big Pun & a song Add-2 recorded for Adult Swim that was never used both songs produced by Antman Wonder.
Two unreleased joints from the homie Add-2 in celebration of his “Luxury” video getting added to MTV’s rotation. Congrats big homie! Chicago stand up.
K-Salaam & Beatnick Present: NY Is Burning (Mixtape)

K-Salaam & Beatnick Present: NY Is Burning (Mixtape)
I randomly downloaded this earlier today and have been enjoying it all day. A collection of remixes from K-Salaam & Beatnick. A pretty nice reggae feel throughout the tape. Nice sound. Check out the tracklist here – you can also stream the mixtape here as well.

Nipsey Hu$$le feat. Iyaz – Return Of The Mack (prod. J.R. Rotem)
A brand new one from the current face of the West Coast. Hook from Iyaz – who recently received quite a bit of radio play with his hit “Replay.”

PILL – Aine Given Up (Ft. Young Scolla)
Pill is one of the most exciting rappers out there right now in my opinion. Another fresh leak from the good fellas over at SMKA – who I honestly need to starting give some more shine to on this blog.
Lupe Fiasco – I’m Beaming (prod. The Neptunes)

Lupe Fiasco – I’m Beaming (prod. The Neptunes)Lupe Fiasco – I’m Beaming (Explicit x Instrumental x Clean) (.Zip File)
This track leaked about a month ago and Lupe and Atlantic Records went all nuts about it. I guess they have sent out this final and mastered version of the track as a possible first single for Lupe’s new album which is set to drop (hopefully) earlier than later in 2010.
EDIT: Got a take down email. Sorry folks – I’m sure a simple Google search will do the trick.
