Grieves – Smile For the Blade

First off a big congrats to Grieves for inking a deal with Rhymesayers. Rhymesayers announced that the NY (Chicago born) rapper will be re-releasing his album 88-Keys & Counting along with dropping a new album sometime this year. Grieves – I’ve seen him perform half a dozen times over the last few years at various events. The dude has a mad underground following, he can spit and he can perform. I mean this is backpack rap. If you don’t like this type of hip-hop then you probably already know it. So to those who think it’s a huge shock that Rhymesayers signed a backpack emo rapper with a rather obscure following. Just look at the Rhymesayers roster. I think he fits right in. Hello, has anyone ever heard of dude named Slug?
