YONAS – Mindless

Well this is catchy…fresh new joint from YONAS reppin the Bronx NYC. Believe me – I’m all about sample based hip-hop but some of these beats are NEXT LEVEL. Look for his mixtape SEVEN set to drop this spring. Dude can spit a rhyme too. Believe that.

Shawn Chrystopher – No Snitchin’
My man Shawn Chrys is getting bigger and better each day. Here are some visuals for “No Snitchin’” – which I presume is off his EP titled The Audition which is set to drop tomorrow, March 23rd. One of the more exciting MCs in the game.
Shawn Chrystopher – No Snitchin’
looks like 2dopeboyz dropped the MP3. Enjoy!
Aviator – Thank You Come Again (Mixtape)

Aviator – Thank You Come Again (Mixtape)
So much music is being released these days that I’m really starting to lose interest in a lot of artists. I’m drowning in all this content. This blog scene is just so damn crowded. Sometimes I stumble upon a diamond in the rough. Thanks to my man Max over at Hold My Coat, I have been bumping the following mixtape during my travels home to Minneapolis for spring break. I don’t know much about Aviator but with tremendous beat selection and simply having fun while spitting on the mic…the results are exactly what I’m looking for in a mixtape these days. Something refreshing and fun that has me coming back for more.
Drake – Shut It Down ft. The-Dream

Drake – Shut It Down ft. The-Dream
This may or may not be the next single off Drake’s upcoming album Thank Me Later. Not sure I’m a huge fan of it off the bat. But “Over” grew on me so this probably will too. This might be an unfinished version of the track too. The internet these days….geez. The Dream is an excellent guest choice though.

B.o.B – Nothin’ On You ft. Big Boi (Remix)
One half of Outkast’s hops on B.o.B.’s chartopper “Nothin On You.”
Also – Big Boi just signed to Def Jam for a solo record deal. I hope these means we will see his upcoming album Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty! sooner than later.
The Adventures of Bobby Ray drops April 27th – check out the artwork up top!

Drake homeboy Nickelus F grabs up and comer XV for his first single. I can dig it! Two dope MCs.
Consequence – Movies On Demand (Mixtape)

Consequence – Movies On Demand (Mixtape)
Some more G.O.O.D. music from rapper Conequence. The tracklist has it worth checking out alone.

Chip Tha Ripper – Feel Good (Video)
I’m slowly starting to dig Chip more and more. This beat is pretty unique too. Off his The Cleveland Show mixtape.
Prof – Kaiser Von Powderhorn 2 (EP)

Prof – Kaiser Von Powderhorn 2 (EP)
Brace yourself, kiddies. Prof is back with the second installment of his Kaiser Von Powderhorn EP series. This much anticipated follow-up to his first Kaiser EP features eight of Prof’s most humorous and polished tracks to date. The upbeat, light-hearted Kaiser Von Powderhorn 2 makes a perfect party soundtrack. Each track reinforces Prof’s status as the best Twin Cities MC, as he switches seamlessly between playfully pawing at and powerfully pouncing on the beat.

The artwork says it all.
Pac Div – Shut Up ft. The Cool Kids
Dope new visuals from Pac Div.
Diggy – Made You Look Freestyle (Video)
I’m made late on this but it’s to fresh not to post. Diggy’s stock is definitely on the rise. He snapped on this one. I see a serious future in this kid. Has hip-hop royalty ever been this good?

Dave Coresh – Formal Introduction (Mixtape)

Dave Coresh – Formal Introduction (Mixtape)
I’ve been a fan of Dave since the first time I heard “Keep It Movin (Prod by Rob Bates)’” This mixtape is yet another example of why Dave Coresh is one of the best rappers coming out of Chicago right now. I also love it when a certain rapper and certain producer just create something incredible every time they collaborate. In this case Rob Bates supplies even more epic production to his resume. Excited to see his career too. Maja 7th, another Chicago producer definitely gets things done on his tracks too.
Don’t skip this one.
Look for Dave on Bad Service This Sunday, March 14th from 6-9PM. Tune in at The Beset College Radio Station in the Nation – Radio DePaul.
Chicago-based, D.C.-bred emcee Dave Coresh has stepped into the Booth to bring fans his long-awaited fourth mixtape, Formal Introduction. Mixed by DJ Tay James, the street album is presented by RubyHornet, FakeShoreDrive, IllRoots, and DJBooth.net. Other sponsors include Jugrnaut, InoPrints.com, DTLR, Q&Q Entertainment, Classick Studios and Grade A Mixtapes.
Among the 15 fresh new cuts showcased on the set are the recently-featured title track and the artist’s Booth debut, the reader-acclaimed “Keep It Movin.” Fellow Windy City natives Mike Schpitz, Add-2, Vic Mensa, Chuck L.i., Rocket and BEN, along with D.C.‘s G5 Clive join Coresh throughout the project, flowing over beats by Rob Bates, Maja 7th, ILL Brown, Chaise Marcel, Nova and Jon Francis.

Mally – On The Way Up (Prod. By Mydus)

Mally – On The Way Up (Prod. By Mydus)
This is straight heat from easily one of the most exciting MCs to be coming out of the Twin Cities. Incredible production from Miami’s Mydus. This will be on Mally’s upcoming album titled The Quality of Mind. No due date yet but we do know Mydus will be doing all the production for this one. Can’t wait to see where Mally is at this time next year.
Yung Joc ft. Lil Wayne – Drip

This is outta nowhere. Joc said he released it because he never got clearance from the Weezy camp before he went off to the pen. Wayne’s cultural references date it back to a month or two ago. Worth a listen for the Wayne verse.
That’s about it.
Young Chris – Still The Hottest ft. J. Cole + Travie McCoy – Billionaire ft. Bruno Mars

Young Chris – Still The Hottest ft. J. Cole
I’m probably not as informed on Young Chris as I should be but when your wearing a ROC chain…you probably know what your doing. That joint he did with Freeway was dope. J. Cole caught my eye on this one. Young Chris has a mixtape titled The Network 2 dropping real soon.

Travie McCoy – Billionaire ft. Bruno Mars
Gym Class Hereo’s frontman Travis McCoy is getting ready to release his debut solo album Lazarus in the coming months. Here is the first single off the album and features Bruno Mars. Yes – Bruno Mars…we just saw him a few posts below on that B.o.B track.
Another one of those songs that makes me want summer to come that much sooner.
Wiz Khalifa Interview with Mr. Peter Parker (Video)
The homie Mr. Peter Parker catches up with the one and only Wiz Khalifa at his tour stop in Minneapolis. Topics of discussion include the last year or so for Wiz, upcoming projects, a movie, orange juice and kush.
shouts Pete and Kush Picasso.
B.o.B. – Nothin’ On You ft. Bruno Mars (Video)
B.o.B. is easily one of the most exciting acts out right now. This single is crazy! Now it has some nice visuals to go along with it. Great video. Great track.
Not to mention – it’s been floating up and down the Top 10 iTunes Hip-Hop charts since it dropped a few weeks back.
Hustle Simmons – Hustlepalooza: SXSW (Mixtape)

Hustle Simmons – Hustlepalooza: SXSW (Mixtape)
Chicago’s Hustle Simmons is throwing one hell of a showcase down at SXSW. For those who can’t make it down there – Hustle and crew decided to throw together a mixtape showcasing some of talent that will be performing there. Track listing can be found below.
Mixed by the homie Matt Boy White. Doesn’t get much better than that.
shouts Jugrnaut.

KiD CuDi – Pursuit Of Happiness ft. MGMT & Ratatat (Alternate Video)
Well this is trippy. You may have seen the original – but Kid CuDi just dropped an alternative video for his stoned out party anthem “Pursuit Of Happiness” featuring MGMT and Ratatat. I think I might like this video a little bit more than the original. The power of the internet – we never would of seen this video if it came out 5 years ago.
I look forward to CuDi’s next album more and more everyday. Cudder coming soon!

The Tribe & Big Cats! – The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape

Presented by Midwest Broadcast and DJ Pwelbs
The Tribe & Big Cats! – The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape
Alongside Midwest Broadcast, I am very honored to be presenting a brand new project from The Tribe & Big Cats! titled The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape.
Producers Big Cats! and DJ Pete combine efforts to dazzle you with a variety rough and tough beats. All while Truth Be Told delivers line after line with charisma and character. I’ve been a fan of these three ever since they dropped their Supply & Demand mixtape last year. I knew as soon as these guys filled me in on the mixtape that it was going to be something special. The tape also includes a handful of verses from some familiar faces including Franz Diego, Big Zach, Chantz and Guante.
To top it all off? This is just a pre-cursor to the trio’s full length album titled Forward Thinkers, Movers, Shakers, which set to drop sometime this summer.
shouts to DJ Pete, Truth Be Told and Big Cats! Congrats!
Make sure y’all check out my man Mike over Midwest Broadcast as well. Your bible for Midwest hip-hop.
KiD CuDi – I Do My Thing ft. Snoop Dogg (prod. Watts & Ringo)

KiD CuDi ft. Snoop Dogg – I Do My Thing (prod. Watts & Ringo)
A demo track from the Man on The Moon Days. I mean it’s kinda dope but it definitely would not have fit in on the album.
