Mally – 7 Days (Prod. by The Sundance Kid)
My people! You all are seeing the momentum and movement behind Mally and The Sundance Kid, right? Right!?!?!
These two are consistently impressing me with each and every edition of this monthly series. February’s edition showcases the versatility of Mally and The Sundance Kid. Mally tells a story we are all to familiar with. When Mally rhymes, people pay attention. Sundance? Well he gives us another booming beat with some serious attitude. That switch up at the 2:35 minute mark? Hot damn!
“7 Days is a musical tale of when a boy sees a girl and is instantly hooked so much so, that he willingly learns everything about her. The infatuation this boy has (as many might) becomes so strong that they can explain what the girl does from the time she goes to work all the way down to how she chews her food on a Tuesday. In this case, the chase just might be better than the catch… Or is it?”
Download all of Mally and Sundance’s previous collaborations below. Keep an eye out. The movement is just getting started! You should see and hear the things that are on the way. Shouts to the The Red Ring Regime!

Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco & Mos Def – Blue Note Jazz Club Freestyle
Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco & Mos Def – Blue Note Jazz Club Freestyle
Wow what a treat! Why doesn’t this happen to me when I’m at shows?
After a 4 night stint at the Blue Note in NYC, Lupe brought his good friends Kanye West and Mos Def on stage for a 30 minute freestyle session.
The trio freestyled, spit new verses, classic verses and then Mos did fantastic renditions of Umi Says and Black Radio, all backed by the incredible Robert Glasper Experiment. It was truly epic and the intimate venue made the performance even more special.
All the action was captured by It’s All The Way Live.

The Dean’s List have been a Pwelbs.com favorite for quite some time. I really like the direction this group is headed. Well here it is – there brand new mixtape. These Boston based dudes have put together a nice project for this one. As usual the highlight is the ever so refreshing production. Rhymes from Sonny Shotz are always nice too. Let’s see if this tape takes them to the next level.

Danami – Love Don’t Pay My Bills
Well this is a nice treat. A new track from Twin Cities emcee Danami. The track was produced by Nicademus, winner of the 2010 Minneapolis Red Bull Big Tune Battle.
This track doesn’t have a home yet but let’s hope Danami has a new project on the way sometime soon. A brief description of the track from D can be found below.
“The idea for this song came from the melodic line (in the beat) that’s similar to an old Motown record, “Money” by Barret Strong. This lead me to the concept of women saying things like, “Love don’t pay my bills”. I thought it would be interesting to show what happens to the guys with those women when love doesn’t pay their bills.”
Big Jess – Incredible ft. Jellyfish
Big Jess – Incredible ft. Jellyfish
More tunes from Big Jess of Unknown Prophets. Jess will be dropping a double-disc solo project titled Self Therapy/Good Clean Fun 3 sometime this Spring. “Incredible” is indeed the lead single off the project.

Shouts to Midwest Broadcast.
Dr. Dre – I Need A Doctor ft. Eminem and Skylar Grey (Video)
Man…Eminem is always so angry when he raps! This song is (very) slowly growing on me. I like the hook from Miss Skylar Grey. The video itself has some cool moments, mostly the clips of Dre and Eminem’s relationship in the early days.
How awkward must it have been to shoot when Eminem is screaming at Dre in that giant bath tub?
Detox coming soon?

The Cool Kids – Bundle Up
It’s a great week to be a Chicago hip-hop fan. Chuck and Mikey have dropped the lead single off their much long-awaited album When Fish Ride Bicycles. Really looking forward to this entire album. A few days ago details surfaced including the album will be released ountain Dew’s Green Label Sound label this Spring.
But now the PepsiCo soda brand is preparing to launch an iTunes storefront that will allow listeners to purchase music from certain Green Label Sound artists — and Mountain Dew is waiving the usual label share of the revenue, leaving all income, minus iTunes processing fees, to the artists.

Pulled Over By The Cops (The Cool Kids, Freddie Gibbs, Chip Tha Ripper) ft. Nate Santos – Authority
