Episode 3 of Rockie’s “Life On The Otherside” series takes us out on the “The Otherside Tour.” Rockie hits Ann Aarbor and Madison with Twista, comes home for two shows with Patrick Stump (of Fall Out Boy) and in the end greets a swarm of fans in Bloomington, IN. The momentum doesn’t stop when it comes to this kid! Rockie absolutely snaps a freestyle at the 2:50 mark too.

This is the lead single off DK’s upcoming project Shy State of Mind, dropping early this summer. Wrapping up his sophomore year, DK has built a solid movement over at DePaul. This specific joint got a spin from Timbuck2 over at WGCI this past weekend.
I’ve known this kid for a year or so now. He puts in high quality work and never stops hustling. I love seeing artists grow. Not to mention he can hold his own on stage, something many upcoming rappers really can’t do these days.
Production from Anno Domini Beats. DK will be performing at DePaul’s Battle of The Bands at Lincoln Hall this Sunday, May 1st.

I haven’t entered into the world of Tech N9ne until I read an article about his movement in XXL Magazine this past summer. This dude is the real deal. I’ve been digging into his discography ever since. This one is from Tech N9ne’s upcoming, All 6′s And 7′s, due out June 7th. I’m with that Kendrick Lamar guest feature too.

Waste Age Teen drops May 25th via Rhymesayers Entertainement.
Rhymesayers have announced Waste Age Teen Land, the second album from Twin Cities quartet Face Candy slated for a May 25th release. The album features the talents of dual vocalists Micheal “Eyedea” Larsen and Kristoff Krane freestyling over the improvisations of bassist Casey O’Brien and drummer JT Bates. Waste Age marks the final record Eyedea was able to completely finish before his tragic passing in October of 2010 and shows his growth as an artist and musician, with influences spanning jazz, hip-hop, and ambient music.

Ah yeah! I was waiting for this one. A brand new mixtape from Minneapolis emcee Greg Grease. Greg dropped a handful of promo joints and videos. Now we have the full 16-piece project with production from Mike Frey, Noam The Drummer and Greg himself.
Definitely check this one out. Words from Greg about the project can be found below. Dope!
The Giving Tree is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Growing up that was one of my favorite books for several different reasons, so when I began making this project I thought I’d channel that feeling I had when I was a young kid running amuck in the southside. Throughout the past year I’ve had crazy fun waggin out making this tape with my friends and family. I’d like to share my journey through that through several different forms. The Giving Tree is 16 tracks of audio reflections as well as several pictures of my year. I hope you enjoy The Giving Tree and much as I enjoyed creating it and share it with your friends family ect.
A beautiful new song from the Twin Cities own M.anifest. This will be featured on M.anifest’s September release Coming to America: Immigrant Chronicles. Production from Budo. This sample is crazy!

Please play at a high volume.
