Chet Faker – No Diggity
I was doing some internet crate digging and stumbled upon Australian musician Chet Faker. What struck me first was his incredible remake of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity.” I love when someone takes a cover and make’s it their own. Little is out there about Chet, other than than a Facebook page and official website. Although, his web presence has picked up a bit since his tracks have hit the blogosphere over the weekend.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for new material but in the meantime head over to Chet’s Soundcloud page.

Chicago hip-hop funk band whysowhite drops some live footage of “Renegade” from their show at Lincoln Hall. Hard to believe this is only their 4th live show. The good folks over at Nocturnal Media and SBG Movement put together this fantastic mini-documentary about the good fellas of whysowhite. The Chicago hip-hop funk band is currently in the studio recording their debut album.
The 7-piece movement has won UIC and Northwestern’s Battle of the Bands in the last few months. They also co-headlined Radio DePaul’s Hip-Hop showcase back in March.
whysowhite will be opening up for Gift of Gab (of Blackalicious) on May 12th at Ace Bar. Details at CrowdNoize.
