The fam Mr. Peter Parker catches up with Freeway at the Fine Line Cafe in Minneapolis. Freeway was playing a rare show with producer Jake-One. The two released one of the best albums of 2010, The Stimulus Package.
Shouts to Zeke!
Freeway and Jake One will both be performing at Soundset 2010.
TRUTHLiVE explains, “‘Remind Rewind’ is a reflective homage to hip-hop, primarily focused on my deep appreciation for the art of emceeing, and its profound impact on me as a kid/young adult.” He continues, “It is also a track about the emergence of a new generation of emcee’s carrying on the tradition.
This album is pretty dope – I highly recommend. The entire thing is produced by Jake-One.

Some visuals for “Hustla” off Twista’s Category F5 which is in stores now.
The first single off the Rhymesayer’s release The Stimulus Package which features Freeway on the rhymes and Jake-One with the beats. I’ve been anticipating this release since I’ve heard news of it last year. Interesting guest verses – I never thought I would see Birdman on a Rhymesayers release. I wonder how Freeway feels about Beanie Sigel’s recent shenanigans. Artwork is pretty fresh.

Freeway & Jake One: The Beat Made Me Do It (Mixtape) + The Stimulus Package Info (Video + Press Release)
February 17th, 2009 in an effort to stimulate the U.S. economy President Barack Obama signed into law The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, better known as the stimulus package. On February 16th of 2010, another bad brother Philadelphia Freeway, seizes the moment and sets out to stimulate the Hip Hop industry by signing into law the Hip Hop Recovery and Reinvestment Act with the release of his third official studio album The Stimulus Package.
Produced entirely by veteran G-Unit producer Jake One, The Stimulus Package showcases some of Freeway’s most dynamic and engaging work to date. The collaboration of these two heavyweights along with the strength of independent powerhouse Rhymesayers Entertainment makes The Stimulus Package already one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
Since his breakout Roc-A-Fella debut Philadelphia Freeway in 2003, which achieved gold status selling over 500,000 units, Freeway has consistently been regarded as “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper”. Releasing his sophomore follow up Free at Last in 2007, which featured the Jake One produced classic “It’s Over”, Freeway has kept his skills sharp recording numerous mixtapes, unofficial albums and online leaks all while playing hundreds of shows across the country.
With The Stimulus Package in full effect, Freeway and Jake One’s first act of stimulus in their plan will be the FREE download of the DJ Don Cannon assisted mixtape, The Beat Made Me Do It, available today.
Pretty excited for this project – I wasn’t expecting this free mixtape either! Rhymesayers fans I see you. The Stimulus Package drops Feb. 16th.

Freeway updates all the fans about what projects are dropping when. Freeway’s album with Jake-One titled The Stimulus Package is dropping January 19th on Rhymesayers.
Hell yeah. What is this 3 or 4 Freeway tracks in the last few days? Although the idea of spitting lines about bloggers is an immediate turn off….knowing this is the very first single from the Stimulus Package – an upcoming album with exclusive production from Seattle’s Jake-One pretty much seals the deal on this one. The fact that it’s a Rhymesayers release just fuels the fire. This track could be stronger….not exactly the power I was hoping to hear from this duo. I’m sure as hell not giving up on this project though.
I’ve really been feelin’ a lot of the tunes coming from these Ohio natives the last few months. This time Fly.Union picks up G.O.O.D music up and comer Big Sean for a few bars. Good to see all these guys making some noise.
“girls these days ain’t nothing but trouble…”
Amen to that!
tipping my hat – 2dopeboyz with the links.
Mr. Peter Parker ups another video from his many Soundset ‘09 interviews. I saw him and his crew all over – got some good footage so far. This time around he talks to Jake-One and Jay-Z homie Freeway (both performed at Soundset.) The two have a project coming out in August called The Stimulus Package with Jake-One on all the beats and Freeway on the rhymes. Gotta say I’m really stoked that that Rhymesayers is putting this project together – should be pretty dope.
Jake One’s latest album White Van Music (via Rhymesayers) is the first time Freeway and Jake came together on a track with Brother Ali titled “The Truth.” White Van Music in stores now.
I was literally just re-bumping Jake-One’s White Van Music the other day and here today the video for the track “Home” featuring Vitamin D, C Note, Maine & Ish (of Digable Planets) drops for all to enjoy. Easily one of my favorite tracks off the album. Dope shit.
Kinda whack that Jake-One and Freeway (featuring Brother Ali HOW PERFECT!!) didn’t play their track off White Van Music at Soundset but it’s whatever they still killed it.
RHYMESAYERS SAY WHAT?
A handful of the Rhymesayers family do some nice little interviews for Myspace Music while down supportin the Rhymesayers show at SXSW – a music festival that happened over the last week in Austin, Texas. P.O.S., Brother Ali, Jake-One, Freeway and Abstract Rude talk about there current or upcoming projects. Although Brother Ali’s album that drops in the fall is my most anticipated of the year, I gotta say I’m pretty excited for this new Jake-One – Freeway collaboration. The album is going to be titled The Stimulus Package and will feature Jake-One production and RocaFella Records signee and Jay-Z protege Freeway on the mic. Gotta say I’m pretty proud to have Freeway repping the Rhymesayers crew.
If you haven’t checked out Jake-One’s newest album White Van Music – your missin out as it was one of the better releases of last year.
Check out some photos of the gang down at SXSW over at Skye Rossi’s (Rhymesayers dude) Flickr account.
