I had the opportunity to swing through the YP – No Sleep listening session at VSOP Studios a few days ago and I must say I was pretty impressed with what YP had put together. Check out the footage below. YP talked about the love and creativity he put into the mixtape and it truly shows in the final product. A solid effort all the way through. It truly sounds more like an album over a mixtape. All original production. YP is truly holding it down for Chicago. It’s always nice to see artists improving with each and every project they deliver.

Kansas City rapper Mac Lethal drops the first track off his Love Potion 5. I wasn’t really feeling Mac Lethal when I first heard his stuff then I started actaully paying attention to his lyrics and I saw him open up for Atmosphere and he basically started the party. A real dope bluesy guitar riffed track featuring Aesop Rock and Soulcrate. These guys all pretty much shred this beat with their respective verses. If you haven’t checked out Mac Lethal’s Rhymesayers release 11:11 yet I suggest getting it now. I’d assume to look out for Love Potion 5 dropping soon.
